Torque Drift 2: Update 0.10.0 - Release Notes

18 Jul 2024

New Track - Daikoku

Our first Industrial style track in TD2, It only makes sense that it is one of the most iconic locations in the JDM space. Welcome to Daikoku! Built from the ground up for Torque Drift 2, you can now experience the man-made island at your leisure. This beautiful location allows you and your friends to explore the vast industrial area, meet in front of the iconic Daikoku Tower and weave in and out between the shipping containers at the Docklands. What are you waiting for? See you in the streets, Drifter!

Events system

The events tab and scheduler combine to create a living gameplay area where new events and challenges are surfaced each day with a variety of event types for players to choose from and compete in, where players are given a score target, a track and layout plus optionally a car to drive for the event, allowing them to mix up their gameplay in between freestyle events.

Lead and Chase game modes

With the release of our new event system, Lead and Chase events will start to appear to play through and compete on!

Lead events will have you set the best score you can before the timer runs out or you cross the finish line. You can maximize your score by earning drift achievements and going through Clipping Points and Zones!

Chase events will pit you against a set Lead which you have to beat in score once you cross the finish line. You can maximize your score against the lead by replicating what the Lead does and by earning drift achievements such as tandem and door dive.

This new mechanic makes new & experienced drifters alike, hold a drift within a specified area.
If you fail you still get some points, but if you drift the entire zone, you get an extra little point boost on us.
We’ve updated the freestyle tracks on Intermediate & Pro to include the zones, so get back out there and see if you climb to the top of the leaderboards.

They’re also available within Lead & Chase too.

Happy hunting drifters!
